About Cyrus Jagosh, a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in Vancouver, BC

what i know from experience
I didn’t think counselling was for me. I was functioning, or what I thought was normal. I did not know what I was walking into. If I had to guess, I’d have hoped to understand myself a little better. That was as far as I let myself imagine.
What I found was something else entirely. Real change, inside me, and in my circumstances too. More ease. More joy. More connection. An abundance that flowed with it all.
It came through real processes, an integration of realizations and feelings. Looking honestly at where I came from. Letting parts of myself that had been working against each other finally speak to one another. Letting feelings move instead of holding them in place.
I wanted to carry that experience forward, to be part of that kind of shift for someone else. I am a counsellor because I know from experience that this is possible.

who i work with
This is for the quiet kind of stuck, as much as the loud, crisis kind.
You might be functioning fine, but something underneath isn’t landing right. For some, that shows up as a flatness, a quiet that’s crept in. For others, it’s the opposite, reactive, loud, keyed up, whether you already know why or not. Either way, it’s a pattern that keeps repeating. A relationship where the signal isn’t getting through, whether that relationship is with someone else, or with yourself.
This is for the quiet kind of stuck, as much as the loud, crisis kind. What it takes is some self-awareness to sense something wants to shift, and some willingness to actually do the work of shifting it.
What that work looks like: being met wherever you actually are, whether that’s ready to open up completely or still finding your footing. What you bring is what you bring, certain or impossible to name, easy to say or something you’ve never quite said before. Sitting with what’s uncomfortable rather than rushing past it. Listening to what arises in the body as much as what comes up in the mind. Trusting the process, even when it feels slow, or when trust itself takes time to build.
What helps most is a genuine openness to being in it, however uncertain or imperfect that looks.
Training and credentials
I trained at Rhodes Wellness College and hold the designation of Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (Candidate), RTCc (Member #4149), through the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT), and Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (Provisional), MPCC-P (Member #6052), through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).
The work I do is integrative, drawing on somatic awareness, parts work, attachment-informed work, trauma-informed approaches, and relational processing. The modalities matter, but it’s the relationship that makes them work, the quality of attention brought to what is actually happening in the room.
I am currently completing Gottman Method Couples Therapy training, with advanced studies in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté to follow. Each one deepens the same thing: the capacity to be genuinely useful to the person in front of me.
The modalities matter, but what actually makes them work is the relationship they happen inside.
Ready when you are
If something here resonated, the free consultation is a good place to begin. Thirty to forty minutes, just a conversation to see how this feels.
If you want a sense of how I think about this work, I write about it here.
