Online Individual Therapy & Counselling in Vancouver, BC

Sudden or slow-building, big or quiet, it’s reason enough.

Individual therapy for the patterns, parts, and beliefs that quietly shape how you move through your life.

I’m actively in it with you, trauma-informed, somatic, and paying attention to what’s actually happening in the room.

30 to 40 minutes, just a conversation.

what i can help with

We look at what’s shaped you, what your body carries, and what’s happening in your life right now.

Something that used to feel clear has gone quiet, a flatness, an emptiness, moving through your days without quite being in them. You’re functioning by most measures. Something underneath still needs attention. We work on finding the signal again.

Reactions that outpace the moment. A worry that won’t let you sleep. The situations you keep avoiding, even though you wish you didn’t. We work toward a nervous system that can actually function.

In relationships, at work, in how you respond to certain situations. Sometimes you can already see the pattern. Sometimes it takes someone else naming it before it comes into view. Either way, seeing it is only the first part. We work on what it actually takes to build something new, not just understand the old.

The voice that tells you that you are too much, not enough, or fundamentally flawed in some way. Beliefs like these can run loud or run in the background, either way limiting what you let yourself have. We trace where they came from, and work on what it takes to believe something truer.

A change, a shift, in role, career, relationship, or simply how you’re showing up in your own life. The ground has moved. We work on finding solid footing again, not going back to how things were.

Going through the motions, doing what’s expected, while the version of you that feels most like you slips further away. Or feeling technically close to people in your life, without feeling truly met by them. We work on closing both distances, the one inside you, and the one between you and others.

The parts of you that got built to meet expectations, at work, in your family, in relationships, and what’s actually yours underneath all of that. Your wants, your values, your limits, versus what you’ve absorbed or performed for so long it started to feel true. We work on telling the difference between what’s yours and what you’ve absorbed.

A death, a relationship that ended, a version of your life that didn’t happen the way you expected. Grief that others might not fully recognize as grief at all. There’s room here to feel the weight of it, without being rushed toward acceptance.

A yearning for more ease, more clarity, more genuine connection, even when life already looks fine from the outside. Not a problem to fix. A pull worth following.

Life doesn’t sort itself into categories. Whatever brought you here, quiet or heavy, there’s room for it.

what the work looks like

We start where you are.

Be met.

No prep needed. You arrive as you are and we get a sense of each other. Send that email or book a free consultation. That is where it begins.

Go there.

We work with what’s underneath, the patterns, the beliefs, the parts of you that have been quietly running the show. This is active work, and I’m in it with you.

Find ground.

Something real shifts. Less ruled by old patterns. More room to be who you actually are.

Is this for you

There’s no single right kind of person for this work.

who is this for

This work is for people willing to show up and stay curious, even when what’s underneath isn’t clear yet, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when the words aren’t there yet. You can arrive without language for what you’re carrying. You can arrive guarded. What matters is a willingness to keep looking, together.

who may not be a good fit

If you’re navigating active suicidal ideation, psychosis, or a crisis that needs immediate support, this space isn’t equipped for that right now, and you deserve care that is. I’m glad to help you find it. The same is true for specialized eating disorder or addiction treatment, where more targeted support will serve you better than I can.

I also don’t diagnose psychiatric conditions or manage medication, that’s outside what counselling can offer. If either is part of what you need, I’m glad to help you find the right referral, alongside this work or instead of it.

Individual sessions are $120 for 60 minutes or $150 for 75 minutes. Full details, including extended health coverage and cancellation policy, are on the Fees page.

Questions

Things people often ask.

No. Many people come to therapy not because something has broken down, but because something has gone quiet, a flatness, a sense of being stuck, or a feeling that there is more available. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling.

Trauma-informed counselling means approaching our work with an understanding of how past experiences shape the present. Rather than asking what is wrong with you, we explore what happened to you, and what you did to cope. This shifts the frame from blame to compassion, and that shift often changes everything.

Parts work and Internal Family Systems (IFS) are closely related approaches built on the same core idea: that we are not one single unified self, but carry different parts shaped by different experiences. Some parts protect us, some carry pain, some hold our deepest values. In sessions we get curious about these parts rather than fighting them. IFS is one specific model within this broader tradition, you may have encountered it through books like No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz.

It depends on what you are working with and what pace feels right. Some people find real movement in a handful of sessions. Others work over months. There is no fixed timeline, we check in regularly and you always have the final say on when to continue or pause.

Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most people and most concerns. Many clients find the comfort of their own space makes it easier to go deep. All sessions are held on a secure, PIPA BC compliant platform.

Some extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor. Coverage varies by provider and plan. Check directly with your benefits provider using the designation RTCc or ACCT. MPCC Provisional through the CPCA is recognized by some providers including Sun Life. I provide receipts for all sessions.

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling of paid sessions. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency. The free consultation has no cancellation fee.

RTCc stands for Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (Candidate), a designation through the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada. MPCC-P stands for Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (Provisional), through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association. Both are recognized by many extended health benefit providers, check with yours directly using either designation.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. A psychologist can diagnose and often provides psychological testing, but cannot prescribe. A counsellor works primarily through the therapeutic relationship itself, talk-based, process-based support, without diagnosing or prescribing. Many people work with more than one at the same time, depending on what they need.

It’s a genuine conversation, not a sales call. We talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, how I work, and you get a real sense of whether this feels like the right fit. From there, whether to continue is entirely your call.

Yes, with a few limits required by law. What you share stays between us, except in situations involving risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, suspected harm to a child, or a court order. These exceptions are rare, and I’ll always aim to talk with you first if one becomes relevant. Everything else stays private.
